Hervé Bee Production Merci Messieurs Pour Votre Aimable Autorisation Jean Gesner Henri est né à Leogane, en Haïti le 10 mai 1925. Gesner Henri était connu comme Cloue de Coupe, un nom d'encoche qu'il a acquis à la suite de sa prouesse sur l'auteur de football ( coupe » veut dire la « coupure », et « cloue», cloué). Inspiré par Cuban Bolero and son, il a commencé à s'exécuter comme guitariste à Port-au- Prince en 1951. En 1957 il a formé le Trio Crystal qui a été renommé Trio Select. Ils vont jouer leur propre version de musique « twoubadou » dans les clubs et les fêtes de Port-au- Prince. Twoubadou est un style de musique basée sur les sons a rapporté à Haïti par les coupeurs de canne de Haïtien qui avaient travaillé à Cuba. Le premier groupe de Coupé, Trio Select, était un mélange de jazz, méringue haïtien et de rythmes folkloriques, et a aidé à populariser l'usage de la guitare en Haïti dans les années 50 et 60. Trio Select était composé de Coupé lui-même, un deuxième guitariste et un joueur de maracas. Un nom plus commun pour les maracas en Haïti est le « Tcha-Tcha ». Le groupe donnait des prestations dans de petites fêtes et finalement en 1960 ils ont sorti leur premier album.
