Feisty 16 year-old debaters consider whether the idea can be justified if it saves lives or whether this would let the government off the hook for failing to campaign effectively for organ donors in the face of shortages. Dr. John Breeding discusses control as it relates to psychiatry, psychology and the mental health system. Dr. Breeding argues that any therapy or treatment which does not recognize the autonomy of the individual or does not seek to restore self control to the individual is a form of mind control or brain washing. It all seems to be an illusion. I try to see this hand that is said to be real. It's said to be invisible. So is it a myth? Or is it real? Is being invisible a reality? Are ideas nothing more than illusions? Are they kinds of myths? Driving what we call reality? Is the invisible hand a myth? Are ideas simply a brain's way of thinking? Is that invisible hand a fiction? Or... Is being invisible a reality? Am I really free to answer that question? Am I free to stop breathing? Could economics be a myth or empirical fact? More or less real than any other experience? Do I have a choice whether or not to do something? Is determinism true? Is morality an illusion? Is the invisible hand make-believe? Should I use praise or blame? Should I admire or show contempt? Should I approve or disapprove? Or should it all be eradicated? Is the invisible hand moral? Am I free to choose? Choose between courses of action? Do I enjoy freedom of will? It seems to be invisible. Is the hand make-believe? Does money mean doing what I want to do? Or what I ought to do? Opposed to what I have to do? It to seems to be invisible Is the invisible hand make-believe? Does money imply autonomy? Does it distinguish from subservience or natural inclination? Is choice a free decision that I make? Where does money belong? Economics seems to be invisible. Does it belong to the world of science? Or is it outside the reach of its laws? Do I inhabit the material realm? Or is it the realm of freedom where I live? It all seems to be invisible. Do I exist outside of space and time? Do I have free choices within space and time? Can I act in violation of such laws? Is the material world the only world I live in? Is there something else? Does it influence all the choices I make? Is materialism wrong? Does the invisible hand even exist? It all seems to be an illusion.
