On February 3, 2008 a televised SoBe Life Water (a subsidiary of PepsiCo) ad featuring super model Naomi Campbell dancing with the SoBe geckos to "Thriller" aired during Super Bowl XLII, exposing the song to over 95 million Americans. The ad also aired at the Grammys on February 10 and marked the first time Jackson has been associated with the Pepsi label since 1993.[106][107][108] On February 11, 2008, Jackson released a 25th anniversary edition of his top-selling album Thriller called Thriller 25. It is a double disc album; disc one contains the original nine tracks from "Thriller", five remixed "Thriller" tracks, a new song called "For All Time" and a voice over by Vincent Price. Disc two is a DVD which contains the three music videos from "Thriller" and Jacksons performance of "Billie Jean" at Motown 25. The album featured will.i.am, Fergie, Kanye West, and Akon[109] with single releases alongside the album. Internationally, "The Girl Is Mine 2008" was released as a downloadable single on January 14[110] and on CD on January 25.[111] In the United Kingdom the CD release was pushed back to February 4.[112] In the United States, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" was the first single released on January 23.[113][114] "The Girl Is Mine 2008" reached #2 in Japan, #3 in Mexico, #6 in the Netherlands, #7 on the United World Airplay Chart, a top 20 position in the major European markets but saw disappointing sales in Canada.[115][116][117][118][119][120] "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" reached #3 in Sweden, #4 in New Zealand, #8 in Australia, #32 in Canada, but saw disappointing sales in America.[121][122][123][124][125] On March 21, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" will see its physical release in Europe.[126] These are Jackson's first singles since "One More Chance" in 2003. Then album tracks "Beat It 2008" and "Billie Jean 2008" charted moderately around the world without being released as singles.[127][128][129][130] "Thriller 25" was a commercial success selling almost 1,500,000 copies worldwide in seven weeks and spending two weeks at number one on the United World Chart (see lead). In the U.S., Thriller 25 was the second best-selling album of its debut week, at 166,000 copies, 14,000 short of first. It was unable to chart on the Billboard 200 due to its age but entered the Pop Catalog Charts (where it has spent seven weeks at #1), with the best sales week since December 1996 and #2 the Comprehensive Chart (where it peaked for two weeks). This was Jacksons best launch since Invincible in 2001, significantly outselling The Essential Michael Jackson which sold 8,000 copies in 2005[131][132][133] and sales of "Thriller 25" in the U.S. are more than 500,000 copies.[134] Elsewhere the album peaked at number one in India, Korea, Thailand[135], Argentina (for two weeks[136]), Belgium (for two weeks[137]), Colombia[138], Europe[139], France (for three weeks[140]) and Norway (highest peak their of his career[139][141]). It peaked at number two in Australia (for four weeks), Canada[142] Denmark (for two weeks[143]), Germany[144], Mexico(for two weeks[145]), Brazil[146] and the Netherlands (for two weeks[147]). It peaked at number three in the UK[139] and peaked at number eight in Japan[148].
