from plambe on November 03, 2009
Duration: 135
This speeded up 2 minute video with a tabla drums soundtrack covers a 2 1/2 hour workshop with ancedote circles, tagging of anecdotes by participants, clustering of tags, and production of theme statement and archetypes. This techniques is a modified Cognitive Edge facilitation technique developed by Dave Snowden for getting insights into the emergent perspectives of a group. It is designed to disrupt dominant perspectives shaping the output, and to allow groups to interpret their own narrative material. We use this technique eg in organisation culture analysis, in customer perception analysis, in programme evaluation.

Narrative Based KM Competencies Framework

Narrative Based KM Competencies Framework

from plambe on September 12, 2008
Duration: 697
This video was made for the Cognitive Edge network as a mini-case study of using narrative techniques. It describes an iKMS (www.ikms.org) project to develop a self-development competencies framework for knowledge managers in Singapore. We started with anecdote circles to collect stories of knowledge manager experiences, and from them and prior research on typical KM roles the participants built archetypes. Knowledge managers susbsequently built "competency wheels" for each archetype using Dave Snowden's ASHEN framework as a base. The research was conducted by Awie Foong for iKMS, directed and supported by Patrick Lambe, and will be published by iKMS in October 2008.

Dr. Lynn Hubbard We will examine what can be done to attract more men to participate and enjoy faith related activities and make suggestions as to how to start a mens group within your own spiritual community, Hubbard said. In some congregations there is a noticeable difference in the larger number of women versus men who attend the church. We will explore the feminization of the church and why fewer men are joining spiritual communities as lay persons or leaders, Hubbard said. The series is the second event in the Grand Island Conference and Retreat Program which recently held a Native American Roundtable and a discussion concerning Earth-based spiritualities and their contribution to contemporary religious communities.
