Dr. Kathy Belov is acknowledged for her recent promotion to Associate Professor and her research on the Tasmanian Devil at Animalia 2009 a University of Sydney Veterinary Science Foundation annual event.

A dragonfly is a type of insect belonging to the order Odonata, the suborder Epiprocta or, in the strict sense, the infraorder Anisoptera. It is characterized by large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong transparent wings, and an elongated body. Dragonflies are similar to damselflies, but the adults can be differentiated by the fact that the wings of most dragonflies are held away from, and perpendicular to, the body when at rest. For myself, Henry Horenstein is kind of like that character actor you always recognize even if you don't always remember his name. I've been aware of Mr. Horenstein's photographs and books for many years but I didn't' always remember his name. He showed up on Saturday at the Afterimage Gallery here in Dallas and after meeting and filming him at his show opening I think I won't forget his name anymore. He showed images from his two books Animalia and Honky Tonk. Very divergent work. Almost looked like the work of two different photographers. Henry is currently instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design. He's taught photography much of his career. I found him gregarious, unpretentious and fun. I had an enjoyable night at the Afterimage looking at photos and listening to Henry discuss his work. If you weren't there this video is the next best thing. Put "Henry Horenstein" in Google and you'll get a plethora of info on the man, his books and his photos. Enjoy.
