In November, 2008 California voters approved the Proposition 8 ballot measure, amending their state Constitution to ban marriages between same-sex couples. With a potentially precedent-setting legal challenge to Prop 8 working its way through the federal court system, the National Constitution Center presents a timely program on the issue of same-sex marriage. A lawsuit filed on behalf of two gay couples wishing to marry has attracted national attention. David Boies, one of the leading lawyers in the case, is joined in a conversation by Keith Boykin, editor of The Daily Voice, Maggie Gallagher, president of the National Organization for Marriage, and Glenn Stanton, Director for Family Formation Studies at Focus on the Family. NPR's Margot Adler moderates. Program recorded on 10/20/09.

Gallery of Guns Visit, Pt 1

PART 1 OF 2 ///////////////// A visit to Gallery of Guns in Prescott, AZ with Nutnfancy and the Mrs. As mentioned in previous reviews, Gallery of Guns (Davidson's) is an excellent resource for the gun shopper. Often your dealer will not stock the make and model you are after but you can get directly through GofG, shipped to your FFL. The pricing is fair (possibly at bit higher vs finding it pre-stocked), shipping is fast, and service is top notch. Their website shows accurate inventory and you have just as much access to it as a private buyer as their dealers do. Moreover all guns bought through GofG carry their own lifetime replacement guarantee (in addition the manufacturer's). Having used the service several times myself, I'm a fan. Here our hosts show exactly how that process works to include FFL account management, manufacturer relationships, inventory control, the allocation process, and their special editions (usually very cool). Also we discuss current gun trends along the way. //////////////// Music: Kevin MacLeod, http://incompetech.com/

30 Important Facts All U.S. Debt Slaves Should Know. http://home.iae.nl/users/lightnet/world/essays.htm http://www.atgpress.com/inform/indexinf.htm http://www.gnosticliberationfront.com/you_are_all_slaves.htm October 20, 2007, 10:17 am Paulson: IMF Should Take Lead On Sovereign Wealth Funds The International Monetary Fund should take the lead in developing guidelines and best practices for sovereign wealth funds, U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Saturday. Paulson The IMF is uniquely positioned to identify best practices for sovereign wealth funds, building on existing guidelines for foreign exchange management, Mr. Paulson said in the text of remarks to be delivered before the IMFs policy-steering committee, which is convening as part of the annual meeting of the IMF — and its sister organization the World Bank — in Washington this weekend. Sovereign wealth funds, government-owned pools of capital, have attracted attention of policy-makers as the size of their assets has exploded and their activity in equity investment has grown. Developed countries, the recipients of much of the investment from sovereign wealth funds, are worried growing cross-border investment could feed protectionism. They want the funds to commit to transparency and market-based investment principles.
