Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

from Where's the Outrage? on November 26, 2009
Duration: 0
Thanksgiving is a uniquely American holiday. I wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday. I hope that you re able to spend it with your loved ones. This is short list, it is not exhaustive. This is what I m thankful for: I m thankful for a wonderful, loving wife and family. I could not be more blessed. I m thankful that I m not writing George Bush s autobiography. How do you make eight years of failure sound good? I am thankful for our wonderful troops overseas here at home. I m hopeful that the troops at Fort Hood are getting the support that they need. I m thankful that Bernie Madoff got none of my money. I m sad that Wall Street CEO s didn t personally invest in his schemes. I m thankful that Joe the Plumber s 10 minutes is up. I m thankful that neither John McCain nor Sarah Palin became president. I m thankful that Barack Obama is our president. I m thankful that the House has passed healthcare legislation. I m glad that Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln and Ben Nelson don t represent me or my state. I m glad that progressives rejected Joe Lieberman. I m just sorry they couldn t convince the rest of the state not to vote for him. I am thankful for Senator Al Franken who has stood up for working women and against big corporations. I am thankful that I belong to a party that does not hold litmus test for entry. I am in thankful that the economy is improving. I m extremely hopeful that the economy will begin making jobs in the first quarter of next year. We need jobs. We desperately need millions of jobs. We need slow, and stay sustain growth not for two or three years but for an extended period of time. We need green jobs. We need jobs that cannot be shipped overseas. We need American companies to begin to invest Americans again.

Myspace Top Artists of GRUNGE ; GREENHOUSE EFFECT BRANDY California

Myspace Top Artists of GRUNGE ; GREENHOUSE EFFECT BRANDY California

152,957 Views - Myspace Top Artists of GRUNGE ; GREENHOUSE EFFECT BRANDY California Viddyou ; UKROCKFOOTAGE 2009 --------------------------- There is probobly no more "known" song on the internet than GREENHOUSE EFFECT BRANDY. This 'hit song' of 2008 and 2009 actually comes from March of 1992 ! And a recording session that likely produced alternative indie rock's "original" Emo song !! The painfully confused heartfelt lyrics are 'poetry' that seem to make absolutely no sense yet completely ironic 'perfect sense' all at once ! The words can be found at Lyricsmode.com ; It hurts so much for me to beg You lock your mind you lock your legs So starts out one of rock's greatest songs and one of Emo rock's most chilling anthems ! Along with the Googlevideo.com mega-hit 'A WHITE BLACK THANG' (A political song that has nothing to do with Brandy and yet even sounds like a completely different group), Brandy is a sure fire winner that has accumiliated some 40 million Google 'plays' and well over 200,000 Google dowloads World wide....BRANDY is one of the biggest hit songs of THE UK ,...Internet traffic to Greenhouse effect's main home website www.theGreenhouseEffec... mainly comes from England and Australia as fans eagerly listen and download this epic Greenhouse effect gem of a song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =================== With Greenhouse Effect's music, Songwriting is always the key. "We got great songs" says Clark Hagins "it doesn't matter who or what band you are out there,...whether you are Death Cab for Cutie or Coldplay or Snow Patrol,...whatever that is,...it doesn't matter - our songwriting material will be better,..because we had 'real' angst,..we were a true struggling band who had to fight for every ounce of respect or anything we got - no record label helped us,..we got no fake hype from any magazines,...no radio station played us or ever helped us - unless it was some real tiny indie college radio you could barely tune in - we were real underground - the true 'underground' - AND NOW WE ARE THE OVERGROUND !! YOU CAN'T turn on the internet without seeing us,...we got the goods - now people can see it " Haggins says... G.e. waste no time often in trying to 'subdue' the listener; "We hit them with our best songs" says Higgins "We hit them with Brandy, It ain't easy, and 'WHITE BLACK THANG' and then hopefully they will move onto our other material,..hopefully they will learn about the first 'early' incarnation of the band from 1986 through 1990 that had Phil Keegan on guitar (Dr. Phil) ,..because 'that' version of the band was so key,...such innovators, ,....and such 'inventors'... From the early days of 1985 through to September of 1990, Greenhouse Effect sported a three man "Power grunge rock trio" image , co-lead by Keegan and Haggins. Bassist Rick Carmody was the other third. "It was frustrating" says Clark Hagins "I had great ideas for an unusual kind of band who had weird poetic lyrics - our song from 1987 "Racers' is probobly the best example of all of this ,..but so too is "Precarious",...we wanted an edgy sort-of angry 'confused' band with big loud guitars - very professional and yet 'unprofessional' ,..it was weird,..I was into stuff like Iggy and the Stooges and the Mc5,..i tried as hard as i could to explain my ideas to people and also to magazines and record labels too - BOTH indie AND Major labels too,...BUT nobody knew what i was talking about - they thought my ideas for this new type of 'grunge rock' was too strange and that it would never work because they felt it 'could' never sell records,...., People told me that bands like Poison and Motley Crue 'are here to stay' because they are tied to Led Zeppelin 'in a way',..i told them that punk rock and 'indie rock' was gonna be the wave of the future ,..but nobody listened to me,..i said that you just need to put one of these bands into a big studio and give them a 'pro sound' in a real studio with real money behind it - but people just thought that i was crazy and that it would never work,...i was a guy who listened to music like sst records bands down in my bedroom in my home in Torrance CALIFORNIA and i would listen to a lomita California band called "A noise agency" and a band i discovered one night at maddamme wongs called 'blasphemous yellow",..i was real into indie and alternative,...REM was like my favorite band,..that and stuff like Echo and the bunnymen and even Morrisey....i thought most Heavy metal was silly BUT I DID LIKE rush and maiden because the musicianship was so amazing - Steve Harris and Geddy Lee- ofcourse !! those are the building blocks that kept me into some metal,..plus i liked the who live at leeds - ALOT !! "SO MUCH BETTER" is a Greenhouse Effect song from the bands 'final moments' of late 1992 as Haggins was running out of funds to maintain his little G.e. - then basically a one man "Solo project"... 1992 was a tough time ,.."So much better" had alot riding on it,..i wanted a song like the Pixies,..sorta like my other recent song of the time "IRIE BOB",...BUT when i mailed my music into labels, they all just rejected it,.... it was expensive to drive to the post office and mail shit,...it was expensive to buy bubble envelopes and postage,...but it was REAL EXPENSIVE TO HAVE AN ATTORNEY DO IT - which is what i often did - and 'that' didn't work anyway - in the corrupt world of the music industry - one has to 'know somebody' thats how Nirvana got signed finally - they 'knew' Sonic Youth who happened to be on Geffen -'that' was their lucky fortunate break !! well,..i never 'had' a break like that - so i didn't get my chance !!
