Richard Land You say in Sex 180, that sex is a heart issue. Unpack that for us Chip Ingram Well, I think, again, if we got a bunch of parents in here and they all really loved God, and a few pastors in here, I think, unconsciously, under the radar, would be, How to we make sure our kids don t have sex, don t drink too much alcohol, and don t do drugs, and we make it though this horrendous little period of life? It s an unconscious, defensive posture. But that unconscious question drives people to external behaviors that we want to prevent, and lot of tools and techniques to do that. They [teens] are sexual beings. They re going to be attracted. It is an issue of the heart. In other words, if they could understand that you are made a sexual being, God made you a sexual being, these desires are not only good and right, but there s a right way, the right time. AND you are loved by God and he has a purpose for your life, not to not do certain things, but to be a revolutionary in your culture, to free other people. Because intimacy is so great, second-rate sex is so bad. And so it s a positive message and that starts with a heart understanding that God s not trying to keep something good from me. He s trying to give you the very best. Land Chip, bottom line: Why should a young person wait until marriage to have sex? Ingram Because you are so valuable. And you are so loved. And your future is so important. And not just your future, but your right now experience of intimacy and life and joy and fellowship, first with God, then with other people, demands purity as a prerequisite for experiencing the very best. You deserve the very best. And to have sex before marriage will short circuit your relationship with God. It will develop a series of self hatred and shame in your heart, and it will destroy and limit what you can have with another human being. And you matter too much. You re loved too much. And today, this day, regardless of where you have ever been, you can be forgiven. You can put your past being you, God can give you a new path. And that s what he wants to do for everyone.

Be Intolerant - Mar 20thBe Intolerant - Mar 20th
from For Faith & Family
March 20, 2008

Accepting everything means you believe in nothing. When it come to right and wrong, sitting on the fence won t get you-or the people you love-anywhere. Passiveness is not love. Love is getting in people s face and telling them the truth. Today, we have author and speaker, Ryan Dobson with us to tell us how we can explain God s establishment of absolutes to a world desperate to know truths. Ryan Dobson has a passion for young people and the society they are growing up in. As an expert in youth culture, his hands-on knowledge and speaking experience has propelled him to the forefront of today s young generation. Ryan says, In our culture, tolerance is king. We don t want anybody to feel bad about themselves. Everybody gets to do whatever they want, and we re cool with it so long as it doesn t hurt anybody else. And we get to do the same; it s nobody s business but our own. There is only one problem with this type of thinking; eventually someone will hurt someone else. Hitler did what he wanted and millions of innocent people were slaughtered. Tolerance is the virtue of those who believe in nothing. Rather than stand up for what is right or wrong, the voice of tolerance says we should just let everybody be, that we ll better understand each other and other beliefs and cultures if we accept them as they are. Even if we believe in Biblical Christianity, how many of us find ourselves in uncomfortable situations-drinking or drug parties, say-where you keep quiet because you don t want to offend anyone? Do your friends, even the ones in your church youth group, walk around saying or wearing things that seem to contradict biblical morality? Is your youth pastor considered a cool guy because he s tolerant and accepting of this kind of stuff? pg. 13

Are you facing giants in your life? Do problems, addictions or fears intimidate you and cause you to daily walk in defeat? Today s guest points us to the powerful stones that can slay our giants! Our special guest is Dennis Jernigan, popular songwriter, recording artist and worship leader. He joins us today to talk about his book, Giant Killers: Crushing Strongholds, Securing Freedom in your Life. I have sung Dennis worship songs, You Are My All in All and As the Deer Thirsts for the Water as I have worshipped over the years, so it is a pleasure and an honor to meet the man behind the music. I believe that Dennis example of victory in slaying the giants in life will be an encouragement and inspiration to many in our listening audience who have found themselves facing their own giants. He shows us the stones to defeat our giants and encourages all of us to seek a deep relationship with Jesus Christ that will enable us to experience the same victory over the giants in our lives.
