(Video above is low bit rate 720p) Hello all I am the Creative Director for LandscapeHD a TV channel with a difference that has been broadcasting in Europe for 20 years. We are currently looking to acquire good quality footage in 1080p format (it doesn't necessarily have to be timelapse as above) for a new creative project that aims to bring full resolution 1080p imagery into the home through Cable and Satellite systems. If you have shot, professionally or semi-professionally, 1080p footage of the natural world that you own the rights to it might be that we can work together and we would like to hear from you. The concept is that we are an instrumental/classical music channel with many different well known and not so well known artists, composers and orchestras on our books. We would edit your footage sympathetically to this music, providing the two are compatible, and then broadcast the result. The clips are put into our library which is available for download. So what do you get out of this deal? Well first of all you get a royalty from the downloading of your clip from our website/iTunes etc. EVERY time your clips are sold. Secondly you get an on-screen credit to your website that is embedded in each of your clips that will be broadcast on our television channel for years to come. You will also get a mention on our own website and a link to your work from there. Any material that you supply is used non-exclusively and therefore will not interfere with any other business that you wish to do. Soft City Lights: Bad Veins from Soft City Lights on Vimeo. The snow is changing to rain and back again in Cincinnati, OH. Every window gleams white and cold. And every year on the first snow it brings back these feelings of nostalgia and loss. It’s a perfect moment to listen to Bad Veins. Maybe because hidden within the sounds of old, scratched vinyl, there’s an element of comfort in the honest lyrics, that can be self-aware enough to admit that you are completely and utterly believing in the lie. And though it sounds modern, it still sounds as if its continuing a story that left off in the 1960’s. That even though it’s moving forward, it’s still very much connected to the past. And maybe that’s where some of the comfort lies. Timeless music has a way of transcending the ordinary, dull moments of our lives. And as Steve Earle brilliantly pointed out, most people avoid “trancendence at all costs, mainly because the shit hurts.” But if you stick with the journey long enough, you start growing because of it. This capsule of moments from spending time with Ben and Sebastien will hopefully give you a glimpse of what and why they are making the music that they are making. The songs they are creating are big and grand and from the unreleased tracks I was granted to hear, I truly believe they’ll be going to bigger and grander places.
