Mikey and Wendy are proud to be the owners of an entirely refurbished tool shed! In honor of Maker Faire, we thought we d share this tidbit. We re all about DIY and learning how to build with the right tools, so it was a real treat to get a tour of their gear, most of which was donated and recycled. Knowledge and the right tools can take you far when you re a green pioneer.

Wendy and Mikey moved to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico primarily to build. Build community, build a home, build a fence and some insulation! If you ve ever started a DIY construction project, you know that building materials can get expensive and most times are not environmentally friendly. What if you could get a majority of your materials for free, from a recycled source? You can! It s called Papercrete! Papercrete is basically what the name implies- paper plus concrete. Wendy and Mikey show us their recipe and methods for creating their own building material from scratch.

Mikey and Wendy give us the low down on how shipping containers insulated with papercrete can be efficient, effective, comfortable and green guest rooms. O ministro Gilberto Gil, da Cultura, recebeu ontem, no Centro de Iluminação Cirstã Luz Universal - Alto Santo, fundado pelo mestre Raimundo Irineu Serra em Rio Branco (AC), um documento no qual os representantes das três linhas originárias da ayahuasca (Alto Santo, Barquinha e União do Vegetal) solicitam ao governo brasileiro o reconhecimento como patrimônio cultural. O pedido está endossado pelo governador do Acre Binho Marques (PT), pelo deputado Edvaldo Magalhães (PC do B), presidente da Assembléia Legislativa, além da deputada federal Perpétua Almeida (PC do B), articuladora do projeto de reconhecimento do uso ritual da ayahuasca. Segundo o governador, "é muito fácil construir prédios, mas é muito difícil construir uma fortaleza cultural como esta". - É a nossa reserva moral, a nossa fonte de sabedoria. Eu mesmo, em momentos de descrença, de não ter mais esperança no futuro, foi aqui que encontrei sabedoria e iluminação e muita crença no futuro. Perenizar essa sabedoria, essa cultura e essa iluminação é importante para o Acre. O Acre agradece. Mas eu tenho certeza que o Brasil vai agradecer, não só o Acre - afirmou Binho Marques. Gilberto Gil espera que o Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan), órgão do Ministério da Cultura, "examine com todo zelo, carinho e responsabilidade" a solicitação. - Espero que nós possamos celebrar em breve o registro da ayahuasca como patrimônio cultural da nação brasileira - disse o ministro. This video is a reply to a British from Sunderland UK who said about Menachem Begin: "Menachim Begin was a bona fide actual terroist who killed british soldiers and civilians." in here: http://www.debatepolitics.com/1057532... It's not the first time at all that I see these false accusations made by British about Menachem Begin, I've seen it also in youtube. I blame the public schools of her majesty's civil service. In the past they spreaded lies about Jews and now they are spreading lies about Israel. Menachem Begin wasn't a terrorist. Begin didn't send his people to put bombs in restaurants in London, nor sent his people to bomb themselves up in these places, nor taught his people that British are descendants of apes and pigs (or that they are vermins who have big noses). All he and his people did was to fight the foreign British military occupation in the land of Israel. A foreign military occupation that oppressed the lives of the Jewish inhabitants, prevented from death camps survivors to enter Israel and turned them back to die at sea, and prior to WW2 and during WW2 prevented from Jews to flee to Israel their homeland in their escape from the Nazis. Is that nice? Not to mention the helplessness of the foreign British military occupation in preventing massacres done by Arabs like this massacre for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7VpYq... Begin's people (and not only his people but from other organizations) killed British soldiers only as a reaction to the EXECUTION of Israelis by the foreign British military as can be seen in this video. Execution of prisoners of war is murder by all definition. It's the most cowardly and illegal action. For for decency's sake I'll say that the first two in the list were executed by the Ottomans in 1917. Also for decency's sake I'll say that there were Israeli civilians who were murdered purposely in riots done by animal-like British soldiers and there were Israeli civilians who were killed during curfews. Most of the British whom I encountered with, who aren't Arabs or Muslim believers, are very hostile to Israel and spread lies about Israel. In the forum of the link I gave above there are 8 British who are spreading lies about Israel. Of course I met British who support Israel and I thank them for that. In the video it's mentioned that there were British who wanted to arrest Begin and to put him on trial when he visited London as a prime minister. Well, nothing much has changed because nowadays there are also some British who wanted to put an Israeli major-general (res) and the Israeli minister of Internal Security on trial because of "war crimes" against the current Arab Nazi enemy of the Jews. Guess what? These 2 Israelis didn't get out of the plane because a British judge ordered to arrest them and they had to return back to Israel. Some might probably say that "Begin was a terrorist because his people bombed the King David Hotel..." Well that's nonsense because Begin's people bombed the southern part of this hotel which was used as as British military headquarters, again, a headquarters of a foreign military occupation which had to go away from the holy land. Actually it was the commander of the Haganah who ordered Begin to bomb this southern part of the hotel. Begin's people gave a telephone warning to the British in the hotel that there's a bomb inside and within 30 minutes it will explode. The reply (as quoted in Wikipedia) of the British was: "We don't take orders from the Jews". According to the Israeli Wikipedia it were probably British soldiers who bombed the building of The Jerusalem Post newspaper with a car bomb in February 1948.
