Today Dr. Land s special guest is the young, best selling author and speaker Josh Harris. Many of our listeners may recall that Josh wrote the highly acclaimed I Kissed Dating Goodbye a few years ago. Josh, now executive pastor of Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland, has decided to deal with a topic often considered taboo in polite society. His new book, Sex Is Not the Problem (Lust Is), deals head on with the topic of lust. So many feel they are on a hopeless treadmill of shame and guilt because they find themselves enticed by the constant bombardment of our culture s obsession with lust. God s standard regarding sexual purity immediately puts all of us on notice. We must be dependent on the Holy Spirit if we are to receive all that God has for us regarding sexual fulfillment. Although each of us may struggle with this issue, our struggles may look very different. For some it might involve romantic fantasies, or internet pornography, or the temptation to get sexually involved with a boyfriend or girlfriend. To others it may mean fighting off the temptation of adultery, or homosexuality. Has today s discussion made you aware of what needs to change in your life? If so, that s good. Gal. 6:9 says: Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Develop your own personal plan for maintaining your purity.
