We are told the GDP is showing 3.5% growth, while consumer confidence and purchasing power plummets. We see that Wall Street is back on track, but credit for small business and individuals is still tighter than ever. Dr. Abdullah has been a key political figure in Afghanistan for quite some time. Born in Panjshir, Abdullah received a M.D. in Medicine from Kabul University, specializing in ophthalmology (The study of visual pathways). While working with refugees in Pakistan, he was introduced to an anti-Soviet resistance group, which led him to the Panjshir Resistance Front. From 1998 to 2006 (in various different governments), Abdullah served as the foreign minister for Afghanistan.
