A really weird, but totally AWSOME game for the NES. I wanted to poke a little fun at it, but mostly I just wanted to draw attention to what I feel was a grossly underrated, under-hyped classic from the NES days. If you end up trying the game and liking it, share this with others so that they too can learn of and try out this great game.

PBC Productions and Scrub Club Records present 'Overheat,' Mad Hatter's hip-hop tribute to the NES game Excitebike. Dozens of geeks gathered together to shoot the video at MAGfest, a video and computer gaming festival run by fans, for fans. The 'ExciteBiker', Matthew Mahoney, is a THON veteran who was chosen both for his ability to bust a move and for his innate lack of fear. The video features Internet video game celebrities James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd), Stuttering Craig (ScrewAttack.com), A_Rival (Wave Theory), Devon Riley (Captain S), Bobby Bokista (VirtualFools), Derek Heafer (HVGN), Tim Ekkebus (X-Strike Studios) and others. A huge THANK YOU to all the fans and friends who showed up to the shoot. You're the best. Big shout out to Brenden and MAGfest - for throwing the baddest video game party on the East Coast every year - and also for helping make this video happen. 'Overheat' is one of eleven tracks on MadHatter's Nintendo-inspired rap album, 8-Bit Bullshit. http://www.scrubclubrecords.com/music/8bit.html Hatter's site describes the album as "11 tracks full of nonstop Nintendo memories to bob your head to". The video was shot, cut, and conceived by PBC Productions member Chad Williams, who was genuinely inspired by Hatter's music. He remarks, "Nerdcore is a niche within a niche, but great albums like 8-Bit Bullshit transcend the limitations of the genre." This video marks the first collaboration between Scrub Club Records and PBC Productions.

Threadbanger's Rob Czar checks in with WePCtv correspondent Jessica Amason as she talks with the guys behind 8-bit band, Anamanaguchi, during the Blip Festival. The New York City-based band uses hacked Nintendo video games to produce sequenced music that they incorporate into their sound. In this episode, the band talks about their involvement with the 8-Bit music community and how important computers have been to the spreading and sharing of knowledge within the 8-bit music scene. Archaic game and home computer hardware is recast into the unlikely role of musical instrument and motion graphics workstation in the BLIP FESTIVAL 2008, a four-day event showcasing nearly 40 musicians and visual artists occupying the international low-res cutting edge.
