One minute Art machinima made by Chantal Harvey. This work contains rl images of a LIOF commercial (Dutch) and machinima shot with fraps in the virtual world of Second Life. I had 2 things in mind when creating this: 1. see how far and tight an edit can be with this cross media technique 2. to express my own concern about the worldwide crisis that is taking place. It seems that the people that can keep their job do alright, where as the ones that loose it take the full blow.

In april 2009, I was invited to the IceHotel in Second Life. A spectacle of light, dance, show unfolded to the live performed music by Junivers Stockholm. Producer was Blanche Argus. Dancers were Blanche Argus and Charlotte Rhino. Clothes by Medora Chevalier, master of the lights was Janne Janus. On May 2nd, 2009, I was invited to a AOM performance. This 4th episode of Chantal Harvey's 1 minute art series is dedicated to this wonderful group of artists. http://avatarorchestra.org The Avatar Orchestra Metaverse is a global collaboration of artists that approaches the virtual reality platform Second Life as an instrument itself. The Orchestra conceives, designs and builds its own virtual instruments, making it possible for each individual performer in the Orchestra to trigger sounds independent from one another and to play together in real time. These instruments feature sound, visuals, and animations. A performance of a jumping, hovering, floating, dancing, and twirling Avatar Orchestra Metaverse is a truly spectacular event. Avatar Orchestra performs regularly in Second Life and in mixed reality events at new media, music and visual arts centres in North America, Europe and Asia. http://mamachinima.eu

Combination of RL and SL images, trying to show the sign of our times. 2009 being a year of crisis, for ordinairy people, it seems to basicly hit the people that loose their job, while the ones that can keep working skip through it lightly. I wanted to show this contrast using a Liof Business Centers commercial and Second Life machinima shots I did a while ago on invitation of CARP member Josina Burgess and animator Sca Shilova. http://mamachinima.eu
