It follows those teenagers and other NERV members until the defeat of the Angels and the eventual apocalyptic ending. Events in the series refer to Judeo-Christian symbols from the book of Genesis and Biblical apocrypha among others. Later episodes shift focus to psychoanalysis of the main characters, who display various emotional problems and mental illnesses; the nature of existence and reality are questioned in a way that lets Evangelion be characterized as "postmodern fantasy". Hideaki Anno, the director of the anime series, had suffered from clinical depression prior to creating the series, and the psychological aspects of the show are based on the director's own experiences with overcoming this illness. In the original Japanese, the word "Evangelion" is pronounced with a hard g per its Greek roots (see Translation notes on the title below). Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger Copyright - 1995 Creation Records "Don't Look Back in Anger" is a song by the rock band Oasis, written by the band's guitarist, Noel Gallagher. Released as the fourth and final single from their hit second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, the song became the band's second single to reach #1 in the United Kingdom charts, where it also went platinum. "Don't Look Back in Anger" was also the first Oasis single to feature Noel on lead vocals instead of his brother, Liam Gallagher. The title is perhaps a play on the song "Look Back in Anger", from David Bowie's Lodger album or on the play, Look Back in Anger by John Osborne, from which Bowie's song took inspiration. History Noel said of the song, "[It] reminds me of a cross between All the Young Dudes and summat the Beatles might've done." Of the character "Sally" referred to in the song he commented, "I don't actually know anybody called Sally. It's just a word that fitted, y'know, might as well throw a girl's name in there. It's gotta guarantee somebody a shag off a bird called Sally, hasn't it?". Noel claims that the character "Lyla", from Oasis' 2005 single is the sister of Sally. In the interview on the DVD released with the special edition of Stop the Clocks, Noel also revealed that a girl approached him and asked him if Sally was the same girl as in The Stone Roses' track "Sally Cinnamon". Noel replied that he'd never thought of that, but thought it was good anyway. Noel admits that certain lines from the song are lifted from John Lennon: "I got this tape in the United States that had apparently been burgled from the Dakota Hotel and someone had found these cassettes. Lennon was starting to record his memoirs on tape. He's going on about 'trying to start a revolution from me bed, because they said the brains I had went to my head.' I thought 'Thank you, I'll take that'!" "Revolution from me bed" most likely refers to Lennon's infamous bed-ins in 1969, both in the quote and in the song. The piano during the intro of the song highly resembles Lennon's "Imagine". Gallagher also admits that he was under the influence of substances when he wrote the song, and to this day he claims he does not know what it means. Noel was so excited of the potential of the song when he first wrote it, he used an acoustic set to perform a work-in progress version, without the second verse and a few other slight lyrical differences to the finished version, at an Oasis concert at the Sheffield Arena on April 22, 1995, saying before playing that he'd only written it the the previous Tuesday and that he didn't even have a title for it. The single cover is an homage to the incident where Ringo Starr briefly left The Beatles during the recording of The White Album; after the other three Beatles members successfully persuaded him to return, George Harrison decorated Ringo's drum kit in red, white, and blue flowers to show their appreciation. Oasis - Roll With It Copyright - 1995 Epic Records "Roll With It" is a song by British rock band Oasis written by their lead guitarist Noel Gallagher. It was released 14 August 1995 as the second single from their second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory, reaching #2 in the UK Singles Chart (see 1995 in British music). "Roll With It" received a great deal of attention when Food Records, the label of Britpop rivals Blur, moved the original release date of single "Country House" to clash with it, sparking what came to be known as "The Battle of Britpop". The British media had already reported an intense rivalry between the two bands and this clash of releases was seen as a battle for the number one spot. The media sensation was spurred on by verbal attacks from the respective camps (in particular Noel and Liam Gallagher, Damon Albarn and Alex James), that extended beyond the music industry to the point where the two bands were regularly mentioned on the evening news. In particular, public imagination was sparked by the contrast between the gritty, working class Oasis and the artsy, middle class Blur. In the end, Blur's "Country House" single sold 274,000 copies to Oasis' 216,000 copies of "Roll with It". The singles charted at number 1 and number 2 respectively. In the week of its release, Damon Albarn was asked what he thought of the song. He dubbed the band as "Quoasis" and sang "Down, down, deeper and down" in reference of the song's likeness to Status Quo's 1975 hit Down Down. Oasis have often been criticised for 'borrowing' samples from 60s and 70s bands; this was one such song containing 'borrowed' music. The song is like several other songs, such as "Supersonic", in that it preaches the importance of being yourself. Noel Gallagher does not like the song at all. In a 2005 interview he described it as "appalling". His left ear was pierced but he was not wearing an earring. * Dentals: Available. He had all of his teeth and no dental restoration work. * Clothing: He was wearing blue jeans, blue FILA Athletic shoes size 11 1/2, a necklace and and a red concert T-shirt of the Grateful Dead, Tour 30th Anniversary 1995. * Tattoos: He had a home-made tattoo of a 5 pointed star on his left arm. * Fingerprints: Available * Other: He had a note in his pocket that said: "To Jason, Sorry we had to go. See you around. Caroline O. and Caroline T." The note had a phone number with a 914 prefix. There was no area code. He also had two ticket stubs to a Grateful Dead concert at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. on June 25, 1995. Case History On June 26, 1995 this victim was a passenger in a van involved in a fatal accident in Greensville County, Virginia, that killed him and the driver. The identified driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel on his way back to South Carolina. Authorities believe the unidentified passenger was picked up hitchhiking. He didn't have any identification on him and the family of the driver did not know who he was. The tickets found in the victim's pocket were traced to a Pennsylvania man who brought 20 tickets with him to the concert. Unfortunately, the man could not recall who he sold the tickets to.
