one of the teens accused of murdering a young woman during an argument about a snowboarding trip is dead tonight after jail officials found him hanging in his jail cell. 19 year old ryan vigil died at the hospital this afternoon. valerie castro is live in the newsroom with more.

valerie? jail officials found ryan vigil hanging from a sheet around 8:45 last night ... he was taken to u-n-m hospital where he died this afternoon. when vigil first entered the jail earlier this week for murder -- he was on suicide watch because of the nature of his case. guards were checking on him every 30 minutes. but he eventually had a mental evaluation, and was then taken off suicide watch. "he was found with a sheet hanging in his cell he was occupying a cell by himself, the officer during his rounds found him and immediately called for emergency medical assistance and medical attention was provided immediately." vigil was in intensive care until this afternoon when he died. vigil was charged with murder along with 19 year old christopher midyette for killing 20 year old brittni carlini. police say the teens beat carlini to death with a bat about a week ago, then burned and buried her body near rio rancho. investigators say they were arguing about a snowboarding trip.
