underway. the project was initially criticized heavily because of its one-point-four million dollar price tag, but the recession gave city leaders a better deal. la luz de amistad park at tramway and central does not look anything like it did a year ago -- when neighbors say it was over- run with prairie dogs and the homeless. dirt is being moved, concrete slabs are being put into place -- and soon trees will be planted, and gravel will replace the dirt at the park. this is what it's expected to look like when it's all said and done. it's not meant to be a park for people to visit, but instead, a nice
