12:01 pm documents we got our hands on this morning explain more about how and why 18 year old ree-halio carroll tells police he murdered sister marguerite bartz in the small community of navajo. inside the seven page report outlines statements from carroll on what happened that night, plus some witness accounts. the court documents also include carroll basically admitting to the murder. telling navajo police he broke into the nun's house, looking for cash or other items. carroll says sister bartz apparently heard someone making a noise inside her house, so she confronted him. carroll then used a flashlight he found in the home-- and claims he beat her five to six times with it. he also says he kicked her in the back and in the face, finally-- tieing a shirt around her mouth-- to keep her quiet. carroll says he exited the house with the stolen items, and drove off in her honda c-r-v. in this report-- one man who was seen reportedly driving around with carroll in that s-u-v-- helped lead police to

12:02 pm carroll-- claiming he knew carroll by the nickname-- "psycho". now as we reported on our morning news, carroll was expected to be in federal court here in albuquerque today. however, they tell us carroll is still in window rock, arizona...under the navajo nation's authority, since the crime took place on tribal land. federal court is in negotiations with navajo officials to get him here. which could happen later this afternoon, or now possibly tomorrow.
