Op zaterdag 11 november kon een kijkje genomen worden in het allereerste huis wat in Blitsaerd gebouwd is.nInmiddels zijn er meer huizen de grond uitgekomen in de nieuwste Leeuwarder wijk, gelegen aan de noordoost rand van de stad.nEen aantal percelen naast en tegenover dit huis worden reeds bebouwd en vormen al een aardig beeld van een straat.nHeel lang zal het niet meer duren eer Blitsaerd een volwaardige wijk geworden is. Een ruim opgezette wijk met veel water en huizenbouw in de vrije sector. Een nieuwe “parel” voor Leeuwarden.

Dit keer geen Frieslandcast zoals hier de gewoonte is geworden. Een filmpje voor de gemeente Tytsjerksteradiel. Deze gemeente hield op vrijdag 3 en zaterdag 4 november open dagen. Meer dan duizend inwoners trokken naar het gemeentehuis alwaar zij werden getrakteerd op koffie en oranjekoek. Naast diverse attracties werd het publiek ook een blik achter de schermen van de organisatie gegund.nZaterdag werd een serie oude grensstenen geveild voor een goed doel. nVoor de jeugdiger inwoners was er beide dagen gelegenheid te gamen tegen wethouders. Er werd harder gereden dan de toegestane snelheden met de race-simulatoren.

Donderdag 28 september bezocht ik Esonstad, nabij Oostmahorn, Friesland. Mijn doel om een kort filmpje te maken werd verstoord door een stevige portie bad luck. De wet van Murphy kwam daar nog eens bovenop met als gevolg dat dit het allerslechtste filmpje is geworden wat ik ooit gemaakt heb. Toch is het hier in FrieslandCast geplaatst. Aan ordinaire discriminatie wil Oogwerk Media niet meedoen dus dat betekent dat ook lelijkerds hier alle kans krijgen. Welkom... dus, lelijk filmpje...

In july, 17 til 24, a group of Belgians from the area Antwerpen visited accommodation “De Elf Steden “ at sailingschool “De Twirre” in Earnewâld, Friesland. For as long as seven or eight years now, they come visit “De Twirre” for summercamp every year. It is organised by a christian organisation and the camp runs on volunteers completely. During the activities on the water the group is supported by the professional sailinginstructors of official CWO sailingschool “De Twirre”.

The new Fonejachtbridges again. The first new bridge is finished. Builders are busy finishing the second one. This will take some more time. You can see it’s not going that fast. But still they keep on going and slowly you can follow the developing of the last new Fonejachtbridge in the Wâldwei between Drachten and Leeuwarden in Friesland, the Netherlands. Later I’ll go shooting at the aquaduct that’s being build at the southside of Leeuwarden near the Langdeel. For now there only is a deep big hole in the ground filled up with white sand, Soon they start building the concrete construction. I’ll be there by then,

On april the sixth 2006 I had the possibility to shoot in the house af a woman who died after twenty years of a very solitary life. What I found behind her windows was amazing and very sad. I really feel sorry for the woman. It was obvious she did not have any social contacts and was in desperate need for professional help. After she died, the neighbours finally showed some interest but way too late. Sad stories like this one are to be found in many places. You’d be surprised. The lesson we have to learn is to look after each other. It’s not to be taken for granted everyone is managing quit well. A lot of hidden grief is behind many windows.

Back in the summer of 2003 a friend of mine and I sailed along with the Lutgerdina. The Lutgerdina provides acommodation for disabled people. It offers comfort and pleasure for one or two weeks. The Nebas is an organisation active in sports for disabled people and makes it possible for them to enjoy the fun of sailing, rowing, or other water related sports. Check them out. Maybe you like... The videopodcast is made out of footage shot during the two weeks onboard. I think it’s fun enough to share it with you. It’s not the fun alone. Be aware of what you’ve got; it can be gone in a split second...

Last sunday I went to Harlingen in the northern part of the Netherlands. Harlingen has a harbour so I aspected certain kind of images to find. After a while of shooting that kind of images I came to the seaside. There I saw what I really came for without knowing myself. There was a good wind at about 5 Beaufort so it was good being at the seaside that afternoon. Have a look on what I found in Harlingen and enjoy it the way I did. Meanwhile you can listen to the music of Aloud. The moving images are decorated with the song Beaches from the podsafe music network.

After years of lethal accidents finally the motorway called the Wâldwei, between Leeuwarden and Drachten is doubled into four lanes. This includes building two new bridges and an aquaduct. One bridge already is finished and building the second just started. Five to six weeks from now I will go back to shoot again. Also the building of the aquaduct will be caught in video podcasts. Besides those projects Friesland offers enough to find more interesting subjects to show to thousands of Frisians living spread all over the world and ofcourse any other who likes to watch Friesland develop in the years.
