Woodley Weavers is owned by the Kenyan Ben Handa. He was born in the Kibera slum in Nairobi. As a young artist he started a weaver workshop in 1991. Now he is working with 300 people and selling carpets and rugs world wide. The ladies who do the weaving also come from the Kibera slum, and after having received training they find themselves in a nicely paying job. A splendid example of urban development by the people.
