After a two long years, Russell Shoemaker has finally made it home. But at the foot of his doorstep, an uneasy dread fills him as he enters wondering will he find his wife and daughter, Janelle and Kizzy actually waiting for him?

Russ begins to take the final steps towards home, all the while wondering if after all this time, will his journey with all of the many unselfish detours have been worth it? Or will the cost have been greater than the reward.

After eluding the guards that have been chasing him, Russ ends up just outside his old office building. Once inside, he discovers that not only was he connected with the Adena Corp., but ultimately the Fall itself.

Russ finds himself almost home in a radically changed Seattle and once again is caught in a conflict between the haves and have-nots.

Russ hitches a ride with a Cartel transport driver named Doug Heidland. But along the way they are ambushed by the Marauders and Russ barely escaping with his life, makes his way to Seattle only to discover the city is fortified against outsiders.

In his final confrontation with Arnold, Russ forms an alliance with the man that has been tracking for a better part of a year, Subu.

With the truth now in his possession, Russ must figure out a way to Arnold and the New World Historians once and for all. But as Russ will quickly discover Arnold is determined to wipe away any and all secrets connected to including killing not just ...
