MD170 - COMIC CON 2008: Day 1 Wrap-up from - blip.tv (beta) on July 25, 2008 3 views / likes
Day one of Comic Con 2008 is over, and here's our wrap-up of Mahalo Daily's coverage from the show floor. We hit up the "Masters of the Web" panel, featuring footage from "Fanboys", interviewed the cast behind the new "Knight Rider" series, and cornered Brian Taylor, writer/director of the Crank series on the sequel to the action packed film. Robert Rodriguez was on his Red Sonja panel, Felicia Day spoke to us about Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long blog, and Clark Duke spoke to us about "Sex Drive". Finally, it wouldn't be a Comic Con without Stan Lee, and our very own Leah D'Emilio was at his panel to ask him a very important question. Friday July 25, 2008 from - blip.tv (beta) on July 24, 2008 3 views / likes
Jessica Hardy s positive drug test is the focus of Friday s edition of The Morning Swim Show, which also features an interview with Lara Jackson, the third-place finisher in the 50 free at the Olympic Trials. Host Peter Busch gets viewers caught up on the most recent news about Hardy s positive drug test, then speaks with Lara Jackson, who finished third just a few hundredths behind Hardy in the 50 free. Jackson said she was shocked by the news of the drug test and heard from her personal coach Frank Busch, who is a member of the Olympic coaching staff. Jackson said Busch called mostly to check on her personally, and was not making an official call to say anything about her placement on the Olympic team. Jackson goes on to say she hopes the issue is resolved quickly, and that there should be something done to make sure the results of drug tests are announced in time to make roster changes before deadlines. Swimming World publisher Brent Rutemiller joins Busch to talk about the process of breaking the story and what this could mean for the US Olympic team in Beijing.

The invasive lionfish--venomous and voracious--has reached the tropical western Atlantic, where its reproductive rate is soaring. Invasive species expert, Lad Akins, of the Reef Environmental Education Foundation; along with College of the Bahamas marine science intern, Everton Joseph; and specimen collector for the Bermuda Aquarium, Chris Flook, team up in the waters of the Bahamas, where they dive, collect, tag and dissect, to better understand the invader in its new home. They'll run key field experiments, to identify potential controls, and assess the likely impacts of the invasion, on fragile reef ecosystems and ocean-based economies.
