New Textbook Promotes Better Teaching of Evolution from Intelligent Design The Future on June 11, 2008 33 views / likes
With the recent news coverage on teaching strengths and weaknesses, we thought it worth taking a look at a science textbook that teaches the whole story on evolution. This episode of ID the Future examines the new textbook Explore Evolution: Arguments For and Against Neo-Darwinism. This is the first biology textbook to present the scientific evidence both for and against key aspects of Darwinian evolution. Explore Evolution promotes inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to participate in the process of discovery, deliberation, and argument that scientists use to form their theories. Testifying Against Academic Freedom in Louisiana from Intelligent Design The Future on June 02, 2008 45 views / likes
On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin continues his review of the recent academic freedom bill hearings in Louisiana. Of particular interest this time is Dr. Barbara Forrest, a professor of philosophy with an undeniable distaste for anything critical of Darwinism, who, in her testimony, demonstrated a deep disdain for the Discovery Institute and its insidious conspiracy to undermine American science education. Too bad, as Luskin puts it, her claims are “exceedingly and demonstrably wrong.” And so, pointing out her flaws one-by-one, Luskin sets the record straight on the so-called conspiracy.

Intelligent Design: The Videogame from Intelligent Design The Future on May 21, 2008 69 views / likes
This time on ID the Future, Casey Luskin — changing things up a little — sits down to talk with videogame artist Dennis DeMercer about his recent work on the Nintendo DS version of the forthcoming game Spore. Working with Amaze Entertainment, DeMercer was responsible for animating 3-D creatures ranging from single-celled organisms to advanced intergalactic civilizations in a game that centers around players evolving creatures from one species into another in order to climb the evolutionary ladder. But is this highly anticipated game as much an example of the cultural pervasiveness of Darwinian evolution as it seems? Ironically, no. Luskin and DeMercer discuss their discovery that, despite the obviously evolutionary theme, Spore’s game-play actually hinges on intelligent design theory, because success depends entirely on the ability of the player — i.e. intelligent agent — to fashion a creature ready to take on the growing challenges of its environment.

| 7 months ago doogie commented on the video Texas Darwinists Oppose Critical Thinking
Nice try,but it wont work. You twisted what was said and you know it.We are all for critical thinking and all the sciences that reveal evolution function by exhaustive critical analysis. It is not critical thinking to let an extreme minority theory be taught or brought up, because where would you stop. What about minority views in all other classes as well.It would be a neverending list just to name or have refferal books available-and expensive. This is just part of the ID wedge movement, and blatantly odvious to anyone who thinks critically.I teach Biology at a Christian college and am a Christian and find your comments made just to fool those who may not have a critical mind.Wont happen on my watch
