M.E.N. With Gadgets from vlog::banal on October 01, 2005 1,266 views / likes
Sort of self explanatory. Bunch of dudes show up for coffee. Suck down brew, get all amped up, nervous, neurotic, then pull out units of technology, toy type things, looking to see who is bigger/harder/faster. You get the picture. They can't contain themselves. The end is near. Thanks. See you later. Goodnight.

Power Ranger from vlog::banal on September 28, 2005 1,113 views / likes
There is a large spectrum of mediated character development geared towards the consumption of and by children. At whose expense I wonder, and to what result? I am not certain. I found my child encapsulated by such a thing recently. He did not know that I was in voyeur mode. Focused and oblivious to my presence.

Often, Wednesday mornings, you will find me sitting down for coffee with a group of M.E.N. (aka Marginally Employed Neighbors). The conversation is fast and diverse and getting into that conversation is like jumping onto a moving train. You have to be fast and precise or you'll get dusted.

Lemon from vlog::banal on September 28, 2005 741 views / likes
I stepped into my garden to examine it's contents and enjoy the fruits and vegetables of my labor. A lot of what is in that garden makes a direct deposit into my stomach, bypassing the dinner table altogether. In this case something is missing and must be adjusted for, and so...

My Days from vlog::banal on September 28, 2005 615 views / likes
Recently my camera went with me as I began my path and trajectory for that specific day. Along the path I interject with my mother (oh god, we have the same drawn face, no comfort from that maternalistic ideal), my dentist, my gas pump, and a woman with a stripper pole in her living room. None of this overly planned, somewhat random. A channel for My Days.

I grasp daily for what I pretend are certain tangibilities in my life, grasping, and always I am surprised.

Mashuga's Fotolog from vlog::banal on August 14, 2005 600 views / likes
On almost a daily basis as I traverse my city that I live in I quickly and almost without notice pass people whose experience is that of the voiceless community we call homeless. It is a fragile life for whom these people we see or choose not to see suffer a loss of dignity which is both politically and economically compromised. A source of story that has caught my attention and opened some thoughts as it puts a face on homelessness that I have not seen has been the photo work of Mashuga. In this video I take several of his photos and fragment them while I play my guitar.

Spider Chip from vlog::banal on June 02, 2005 471 views / likes
Click Image to View Movie I found a rather interesting device hanging in the backyard today. A spider had attached a web of it's own making to a small redwood chip that was located previously and approximately at a point six or seven feet lower then previously located. I was consumed. And played my guitar.
