Just launched to my subscribers a chance to help me make a point to the music industry. I love Web 2.0, podcasting and video blogging. Knowing how to do it has made me friends and fans all over the world. Number one question I got at seminars, and online is how did you get your blog theme? I wrote it years ago. And for you, royalty free music is what makes video blogs, podcasts and now with the tests I am conducting in Google Audio Ads, a valuable asset for everyone marketing online. Music sets the mood, stirs the emotion and sets you apart from competition online as a professional broadcaster. I will tell you the results later in this blog about Google Audio Ads, as I am still testing things, but it is exciting. I will be sharing the results later this year as this is June, 2007. One vital element to its success is royalty free music. So here is my experiment, and I invite you to see it in full at www.MichaelandMike.com/special Please go there when you can. What the music industry does not get is the music they sell is not what is important, it is the relationship with your customer, fan, listener, and the real live human being on the other side of the computer screen. Give them something they want and you get what you want (paraphrase of the Zig Ziglar quote) Here is what I wanted to prove to a stubborn and declining industry. There is Web 2.0, blogging, podcasting and relationship building marketing techniques that cost only electrons, but has real value and generates the sales that build the business. I am doing this experment by giving my fans $150 of royalty free music instantly in return for a CD sale or download sale. This will give me the numbers to show up in Billboard Magazine. I want my fans to have something I created to help their businesses and they help me in return making the experiment work. Win-win. Records label legal departments sue children because they downloaded an mp3. Things are changing and if they don t, they will disappear someday. As a result of the status quo, CD sales are half of what they were, Tower Records gone, and the major labels are losing control of what they monopolized for years. So be it. The revolution has started. Let the consumer, and the artists win. Hey again, I get this alot, how do you shoot green screen online video and should I get the software that makes it easy? If you want to, fine. Several online video products out there seem to always indicate shooting everything you do with green screen video software and even other consultants suggest doing green screen videos. But, think through how you are are going to create the most compelling message. I can do it just fine with my $99 Sony Movie Studio software and it takes me 5 minutes to setup my lights and screen. It is all about the lighting and the screen. I don t like to use templated video recording software or that software that let s you light the screen sloppy. It is just as easy to do it like they do in broadcast television. And my screen is always ready to go in less than 5 minutes. See how I do it in this episode. Hey everyone, Happy St. Patrick s day for those who celebrate. I am sitting here looking at the lake out the window trying to think about how to maximize traffic from Google Audio Ads to our websites in a way that makes sense. Google seems to be concerned about our ablility to make approvable audio ads, but that is the easy part made simple with good microphones and recording software with legal music. www.AudioAdMaker.com But I think the real challenge is to craft 30 second ads that get a profitable response, direct response audio ads that convert to business from radio to the web or visits to brick and mortar locations to aquire new customers. My initial thoughts are we should test lead generator audio ads to the radio listener with compelling offers to go to our websites. Offer visitors from the radio an ethical bribe, a CD or DVD or something to build a customer relationships that ultimately drive sales to your backend. For local or regional brick and mortar retailers, it my be trackable cheap radio. But it is less than week old as of today and the jury is out. Take a peek at it in my new video below.
