Well at Least Tailgating Went Out With a BANG!!

I'm going to try and not say too much about the game on Saturday, I mean really what is there to say?? The Hawkeye message boards are a buzz with anything from "I will not be buying season tickets next year if KOK is on the sidelines" to "WOW our future looks Bright with this young group" to "Kirk is going to Michigan" to "Booing should be illegal, I'm a better fan than you, true fans....BLAH BLAH BLAH". All shit I don't really care to discuss cause frankly it's pointless and just a desperate mans way to cope with the huge proverbial mound of crap that is the 2007 IOWA Football Season!I prefer to say "Fuck it, What do you Do?" Then grab a beer and proceed with my liquid therapy! But Hey at least We got some free bags of chips out this season, 17 to be exact!So why did the 2007 tailgating season go out with a BANG you ask?Well, If you weren't there I'm not going to tell you and No you can't have any chips!!!!OK, You twisted my arm. Well as the season started to wind down and Iowa was still roller coasting, along with alot of fans, us die hard HAWKEYE tailgating fans produced some of our best tailgating ever. Yes we slaughtered the usual Turbo Tippy cup at 6:00am and supported our Hawks at full inebriation as usual. But we also got the creative juices flowing and started some new means of tailgating entertainment:1) Team Edward Good 40oz. Bad 40oz. HandsA little twist on classic Edward 40oz hands in that it is now a team sport and each team has to chug a "Good 40oz." (Miller Lite or Bud light) and a "Bad 40oz." (PBR or old Style). The winning team is the first to finish both 40's, get untaped and place both 40's on the table without any tape on them. The winners then won the Coveted TEG40B40H's trophy. While 2 40's doesn't seem like a lot for two people you try chugging an Old Stlye (there's a reason it's the official beer of the Chicago Cubs, IT SUCKS!!!!) with your hands taped to an Ice Cold 40 in 40 degree weather!! regardless it provided a half hour of fun.Congrats Magnet and Jo for being Champions, you are now forever scribed into the record books. They finished in 26 minutes. For the record My team was the first to finish the Bad 40oz (18 mins), but then struggled with the Bud "ASS" Light.....YUCK! 2) The "Bigggggg Pusssssyyyy Game"The last few games it seemed like less and less people were showing up and when they did show up they showed up way late! those of us that show up well before sun up, decided we had enough. We decided it was our duty to the Hawkeyes to call out those that seem to think it's ok to be tardy to tailgating!! 3) "Das Boot"While not a new drinking game by any means, I do think it is a relatively rare occurrence at a tailgate. A glass boot is filled up and passed around to everyone in a circle, or you can try to be a hero and take it all yourself. Easy I know, but the boot cannot be set down till it is gone and no one can puke. to make it interesting after like our 8th D A S B O O T T T T T T , we decided to pour in some red bulls along with the beer!! 4) Port-O-Potty Expressional Artnot that this needs that much explanation in that it's merely contributing to the writings on the wall as your letting one go. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Though the Guy that comes and cleans this one is quoted as saying "I clean crappers at construction sites and I've never seen shit like this!!"5) Red Bull Tippy CupMerely Tippy Cup with Red Bull, yeah kind of weak you're thinking. But it's nice when the Red Bull is free and you can get the Red Bull Chicks to Play with you!!!6) Beer Pinata~Inspired by everyone's Favorite Mexican Amigo (Anith). Originally supposed to be a pre-Tgiving joke by Anith(who now knows that Pinata`s don't come pre-filled with candy) turned into the best tailgating activity ever!! The cops at first were a little weary as in the dark they were not quite sure what we were hanging from the tree, but as the day went on the Blue Beer Filled Burro drew alot of attention and eventually a crowd. We single elimination Tippy-ied off for who got to take the first crack at him and after two, yeah two rounds Harp beat Burke for wacking rights! We then decided high noon is when the burro was going to get it, and boy did he!! Anith and Herky finished him off! Who was the guy in the NETS hat and how many timesdoes he need to give Herky High-five??And then some Debauchery ensued..... Needless to say it was a fun year and I'd have to say rates right up there in my top 3 (out of 9) tailgating seasons. Thanks to everyone who actually showed up on a regular basis, provided food and above all great memories.
