Nominees for the 62nd Tony Awards include a slew of newbies honored for their debut performances on Broadway. Lin-Manuel Miranda is up for the award for leading actor and for composer/lyricist for In the Heights (with 13 nods, this year's most nominated show). Passing Strange's co-creator, Stew, got four nominations (the show got seven), and Tracy Letts's August: Osage County leads the pack in nominations for Best Play, including four for Letts himself in acting, book, score and orchestration. The awards will be given out tonight at Radio City Music Hall and will air on CBS-TV. Whoopi Goldberg will host the event, which includes a special Lifetime Achievement Award for composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Quote "I would like to win the Pulitzer Prize.
