celebrate the solstice. This event is called Burning the Clocks. Groups make paper lanterns and walk them down to the seafront where they are burnt in a great big firey inferno. Fire. FIRE!!! Fuck yeah!!! I was with the University of Brighton 'team' (it's where I work). Our take on the theme of 'The Tower of Babel' were some babel fish and a giant ear. Not everyone got it, but you could watch the faces of the ones that did as recognition spread across their face. I was carrying the battery pack for the giant ear.
