School Receives Grant
A local elementary school recently received a grant thanks to Thirsty's Party Store and ExxonMobil. The $500 grant was awarded to Forest View Elementary through the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program; funds from the grant will be earmarked toward the school's Accelerated Reader program. The program rewards students for reading by giving out "reader program" t-shirts; those shirts are awarded to students throughout the year. The shirts are designed by Graphic Arts students at Cadillac High School. Staff at Forest View Elementary said the school is every excited about the grant they received; they plan to use the funds to purchase books and t-shirts for their reading program.
