A follow-up to his groundbreaking, Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2004 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, the event drew nearly 28,000 fans to Chicago's Toyota Park on July 28. Like its predecessor, the festival was a benefit for Clapton's Crossroads Centre in Antigua, a drug and alcohol education and treatment facility. "The Crossroads Festival is the realization of a dream for me, to gather a group of amazingly talented musicians to perform on one stage," says Clapton, who remains onstage virtually throughout the entire concert. "The Crossroads performers are all musicians I admire and respect."
One of the longest-running performing arts anthologies on television, the award-winning GREAT PERFORMANCES series presents the best in music, dance, and theater. The series is a production of Thirteen/WNET New York and funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the National Endowment for the Arts, public television viewers, and PBS.
