f his kids shoes after visits to the park and he blamed the Monarchy. He formed a direct link between the queen still being the head of state and dog owners resolutely refusing to clear up after their animals. He saw it as just one symptom of Britain's archaic power structure still resolutely holding on by the skin of its teeth. If an Englishman's home is his castle don't mess with his pet. Ask a dog owner in East London why he hasn't picked up the mess and the least you'll get back is a wealth of abuse. The powers that be won't address it for fear of the whole sordid conspiracy unraveling. So with this in mind he set out to plant the flag, claim for the Empire and photograph one example for each reigning Monarch of the realm. After amassing hundreds of images he whittled it down to the fifty or so it took to correspond with each king or queen of England and named them chronologically from William the Conqueror to Elizabeth II. The resultant photomontage references the seminal work of British artist Jamie Reid. It is entitled 'Commonwealth' in recognition of 2009 being the 60th anniversary of The Commonwealth of Nations and it is 2.3 by 1.6 metres in dimension. You may have seen prints of it on the streets of East London. Music - UK National Anthem, recorded live on a Yamaha CS-01.
