When one has very little coinage in ones pocket, but still needs to fill the void growing in ones belly, where does one turn to. Where? Costco, that's where. Yes, the bulk discount club megastore (also known as a Cash 'n Carry in the UK) also has it's own food court. Well, not really a food court as such, more of a food window. It has a limited menu consisting of pizza, hotdog, chicken bake, iced blended coffee and frozen yoghurt. Nothing much to write home about, you might think. But the great thing is how cheap their items are. For under $5 you can get a hotdog, huge slice of pizza and a soda. Or my favourite, a chicken bake, a chocolate/vanilla frozen yoghurt and a churro (a sugary Mexican pastry) to dip in the yoghurt. So good. The portions are beyond ample for lunch, and are surprisingly tasty. The one caveat is that they are a cash only joint, and I *never* carry cash any more. More than one occasion I have queued only to get to the counter and realise I'm skint. And speaking of queue's, the line is usually pretty long. Costo is a zoo almost any time you go there, and lunchtimes are no exception.
