Massimo Pupillo (bass), Jacopo Battaglia (drums) and Luca Mai (alto & baritone sax) join the italian underground band Gronge in 1993. They left in 1997, giving birth to Zu to follow their personal path. Their latest solo work is Igneo (dated back 2002) but in this years they worked on side projects and collaborations: their latest out are The Way Of the Animal Powers. with cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm and How to Raise an Ox with Mats Gustafsson on baritone sax.
Økapi (AKA Filippo Paolini) is an italian turntablist and sample cutup artist. His first work, Where's the beef?, was released on March 2005 for Inflatabl Records.
Dälek (pronounced dialect) is an underground hip hop band, with base in Newark. Along with Dälek itself (MC and producer) are two other members: Oktopus (producer) and Still (turntablist). They use to be in a constant touring and collaborating with a lot of bands. Their latest album is Absence, released in February 2005 for Ipecac Records.
Zu and Dalek toured together in Italy and together they hit the studio in 2003 (Milan) and 2004 (Rome) recording hours of material for a cooperative work.
The first taste of their cooperation is the Zu/Dalek split 7" out on Wallace Records that includes only two tracks: Igneo Deadverse remix (by Dalek vs Zu) and Spiritual Healing, the one this video is about. The record also include an eigth page comic by Miguel Angel Martin.
And last, but not least, let's spend some words on 47th Floor, the studio that realized this video. Founded by Matteo Mendiola, Giulio Dallari and Marvin Milanese as a spare time project (they managed a bookstore in Rome, now closed), it is now a successful design studio. But the video will surely speak better upon their skills.
