do it." So get out your Hawaiian grammar books collecting dust on the shelf, which you may own, (such as E 'Ölelo Hawai'i Käkou, Nä Kai 'Ewalu, Ka Lei Ha'aheo, or 'Ölelo 'Öiwi), get out your tape cassettes and CDs, revisit any online resources (such as Kuläiwi) and review them. And even if you haven't attempted to learn Hawaiian before...'a'ole pilikia (no problem)… E ho'omäkaukau! (Get ready to learn).
From Hawai'i Island to Kaua'i, from Maine to Alaska and abroad...stand proud and be counted and learn to speak our mother tongue, for “within the language is the code of our behavior,” and therefore, the language is the core of our identity!
Visit our website for a downloadable PDF showing where all 401,162+ Hawaiians reside with the U.S. E kü kanaka, e kü ha'aheo!
Join me as we regain the ability to speak our language and at the same time gain insight into the (Hawaiian) world-view embedded within our language.
