For the new year, the RATP is handing out these tickets. They're not real tickets. They are just supposed to make us feel warm and fuzzy. They come in pretty colors, professing sentiments appropriate for the new year, such as love, health and friendship... collect them all! Write

on the back and give them to your friends! And before you ask, they're slightly bigger than real tickets, just so you won't get all confused and try to use them like real tickets.
So. We have several questions. Firstly, why are they spending our fares on this? Secondly, are these sentiments really the most appropriate ones for Parisians on the métro? We'd like to see fake tickets expressing sentiments like "Get your damn elbow out of my ribcage," or perhaps "I'm in the first trimester and I'm not showing yet but I need your seat because I'm really feeling like I'm going to puke."
Finally, we wonder why the RATP cares if we get warm fuzzy feelings when we think of them. They've got us over a barrel; it's not like there's another métro or bus company in town. We suppose it's nice to know they care. But it's kind of like those Valentines that your mom made you give out in class to everyone. They're not real Valentines.
