It's time to speak up and be heard, whether by voting, wiki-ing, demonstrating, or striking (or by hanging out on the base of the Bastille column, if that's more your style). Ségolène Royal (not Beaujolais Nouveau) has won the Socialist primary on the first round. Metro reports [fr] that there is now a wiki for the presidential election, called kelvote.com. Students from all over the city demonstrated [fr] in front of the Hôtel de Ville to stop the deportation of Lycée Maurice-Ravel student Cristian Cadavid-Escobar. The RATP is on strike [fr] for six hours today, protesting over the extra hour of service on Saturday nights, to be launched December 23rd. We reported on the extra hour last week, but we're happy to learn that an extra hour on Friday nights is also due to be added at the end of 2007. Traffic today is lightly perturbed. By the way, did you know about this handy page [fr] for seeing who's on strike? Photo by aneequs on flickr.
