The Cost for the War On Terrorism

Sep 18, 2006
The cost for the war on terrorism. How much are we paying to feel safer, and how do we know if we're overspending? These are some of the questions raised by IAN LUSTICK in his new book Trapped in the War on Terror. Lustick argues that the U.S. government is exploiting the public's fear of terrorism in order to pay for all kinds of projects many that aren't even critical to national security. Lustick is a professor of political science and the Bess W. Heyman Chair in Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
