vocalizn’. They have a sound that’s as deep and fat as the Mississippi river with call backs to the blues of the past. They call their music “PreWar-rag-MaxwellStreet style-HeyLordyMamaMamaGetUp&Go stompin’-ass blues.” Whatever it is it sounds good. And with the help of the Funky Butt Brass Band, a new Orleans style street brass ensemble they had a bit of an early soul edge on this particular night.
Oh and in addition to a bonus track from the same night I also include here a video I made of these guys at City Museum as part of my Lo-Fi Sessions project last summer.
