I addopted louie a katrina dog and I have only had him for about 8 mths and all ready I have been charged 4000.00 in medical bills and I have no way to pay them, I am a single mom and my daughter thought we should get a dog so we got louie for the Duxbury(mass) pound. We found out the hard way he had a hernia I bent down to hug him and he almost took my face off because i rubbed his tummy and it must have hurt him, so I took him to the doc and that was 500.00. A couple mths later he was playing with a tug-of-war rope toy and swollowed a piece of the rope so back into the doc office and back to surgery 3500.00 now my daughter and I have to move into a smaller house less rent and less room for louie and us.I'm not really sure who to talk to but if any one does please contact me asap so we can keep louie he is the best dog anyone could addopt. Hi! Great site... getting into it...
Found some bugs:
On http://mefeedia.com/user_admin/profile_videoblog.php the link to http://blip.tv is mistakenly going to 'bip.tv'.
The search box in the main area on http://www.mefeedia.com/search.php doesn't seem to work at all(?). It's return a different url query string than the search box in the top-right of the page.
The search results tend to say either "searching s" or "searching showss" [sic].
The search box on this discussion page is the same old search box - it doesn't search discussions! Usability!
Keep it up... love it.

hi everyone?hi i am havinh a hard time trying to find an educational movies on giraffe,i mean my father been wanting to find movies on that for a long time and i want to know where do i begin? i tried going to discovery channel, wildlife,animal kingdom and other ones? but it is that the search with them is very limited on what they have to offer. so i know once i find it i will put a big smile on his face. so if any one have any suggestions feel free to let me know. i thought that this was a good web site but i have a hard time trying to find a video about giraffe unless this website do not offer that. so please respond.i am looking for wildlife on giraffe's.

Are you hurting in Alexandria, La?

Well be aware that a well known pain doctor whose last name is related to a pineapple is now using highly trained receptionists to medically evaluate his patients by surveillance of the waiting room and analyzing them when they check in. I was just kicked out of there for three reasons - #1 the receptions said I fall asleep in the waiting room all the time - very interesting as the window faces the outside door. I have missed the entertaining sight of the receptionist climbing up on the desk and sticking their heads out of the glass window and looking around and now I will never get to see it, DARN IT. Now some people may dose off in those ergonomically designed chairs you think would be in a pain doctor’s office, but really the only people who look asleep are the ones who died from boredom! And I'm going on Jay Leno to demonstrate my talent of simultaneously reading or talking to people and sleeping. Medical observation #2 (and remember receptionists are making these medical observations, which I thought was against the law – but who am I to say – I’m a known (at least by them) drug abuser - is that my speech is sometimes slurred. Hum, let's see, I had Bell's Palsy in 1994 during my pregnancy and my neurologist in Houston said I had about a 10% residual from the Bell's Palsy (this is where one side of your face becomes paralyzed and you talk "funny", your eyelid will not move and liquids dribble out the side of your mouth - hopefully it will all go away, but in my experience - oh I'm a retired nurse - this isn't so and you are left with a droop to your face, etc.) and I will have slightly slurred speech from now on - now remember the medical receptionists have stated my speech was slurred - as it has been for 13 years, this must not have been covered in medical receptionist school yet or they can't read the big words in the chart. And as some of the receptionists have been there every since I started coming there they just don't seem to remember how I sounded BEFORE I got put on pain med! Accusation #3 that makes me a drug abuser - I am groggy when checking in. Now I'll admit to just tired (I don’t sleep well – would you?), or having a migraine, or don't feel well.....but amazingly I have driven myself 20+ miles to the office and have not had one accident - I think I got groggy when I saw the bill!!! OK - now this nameless doctor has not seen me personally in a year+ (?) – exception below. I have been seen by the nurse practioner who is a nurse who has had 4 years of school to become a BSN (a bachelors degree) and then 2 more years to get a Master's then additional training to become a Nurse Practioner - who is a highly advanced species of nurse who can make some diagnosis (which ordinary nurses can't do - but obviously medical receptionists can) and also write some prescriptions - they usually work in a physian's office. Now I had been seeing this NP for the past year+ and not once has she quizzed me about drug abuse or asked me to take a urine test - which would be the PROOF that drugs were being abused - or changed my drug prescriptions any!!! Note: I suffer from chronic pain, severe migraines, Bell’s palsy, fibromyalgia, bi-polar; my fingers are tired of typing! She, we'll call her Welbra, has not seen the slightest problem with me. Will she get fired because she missed this? Will my sister who uses the same doc for most of the same reasons + a plate in her neck be accused of a drug abuser too and be kicked out too? Stay tuned! Now I have been having wild mood swings - a symptom of bi-polar disorder, and I wrote this on my intake sheet which you must fill out even if it's been only a week since you've been seen (maybe a miracle occurred in that week!) but I don't think the doctor reads them so we provide this useless data visit after visit after visit... I also told him I was in a very fragile emotional state for various reasons - one why he abruptly decreased my med and did not tell me a plan of care or anything - his only comment was "You’re lucky to get this" - now I am NOT a doctor - but I have seen plenty on TV. - but this seems like shoddy doctoring to me. And I had to ask for another reason (bet I get a BIG bill) to talk about it - and the accusations started and I was not given the chance to even defend myself on any charge - did this doctor want to get rid of a patient and picked me to free up a spot for a physician friend's wife??? Well to put it lightly, I had a hissy fit to go!!! He did not listen to the Bell's Palsy - although he has been seeing me for years and COULD have read it in the chart and should had known it as I have seen him for maybe 10 years (but only ONCE a year if THAT- now I HAD seen this doc for a nerve conduction test the week before - now maybe I wasn't lively enough for him - well when they are going to do a test where they are going to insert needles into you and send electrical charges through them (BTW: IT HURTS) to prove you have peripheral neuropathy (permanent nerve damage usually to the fingers and feet) which probably means you have diabetes as it runs in the family - act like it's the best fun you've ever had - be sure to laugh and tell jokes, maybe bring a pie and hit yourself in the face! I was threatened for assault because I stepped in front of pineapple doc and held my hand up as to say - guess what kidos? STOP. Yeah You! You got it! Well, he ran into my hand and then called it assault and told me he was calling the Sheriff’s Office – he wouldn’t even let me get my purse – a technician brought it out. Now my sister who accompanied me to this doctor all the time and we sit there talking the entire time we are in the waiting room, where remember I was sleeping. Shhh, don't wake me up. Am I sleeping now - help - help - tell me!
So, tell me what you think - was I shafted? I admit I went out of control - but he knew I was on the edge and had been having wild mood swings (bi-polar again) - it was on the form (wonder if it's still there) and I told him so. BUT I did not loose control till he accused me of drug abuse and he KNEW this when he was doing the nerve conduction test – if he had told me then that he “knew” I was a drug abuser I’d probably said adios and left the practice, but he kept it to himself and only told me he was decreasing the dose (no reason given) as he left out the door - now he had NEVER urine tested me - and had no witnesses to say I was abusing drugs - just how did he come to this conclusion??? Does he hide in my closet and watch me take my meds? Did aliens tell him? Well, he didn't tell me so you tell me!
BTW: I called back and apologized for the outburst recounting I was having severe mood swings. I had already called and told them to send my chart to my house – wonder how much will be added? I went to see a lawyer – but he and doc pineapple had a “thing” and yes, I lost it there because he was ORDERING me to go home and calm down – DON’T tell a bi-polar person to calm down – they CAN NOT do it – it is the DISEASE not them! And I went to my internal med doc and he gave me some med to help me calm down and increased my bi-polar med and is referring me to the OTHER pain doc in town whose name sounds feline! So, hopefully doc pineapple will not call him and tell him I’m a drug abuser based on his medical receptionist’s diagnosis or call my pharmacy and stir things up. If he does I will sue for defamation of character – I still may see a lawyer about slander – but my husband just told me he wondered if the receptionists knew what they were being accused of. Well BFN!

I've just recently discovered Mefeedia on my Mac. Looked interesting. I tried playing a couple of Podcasts but get no sound. I made sure my sound was on and up. I have itunes and juice but can't seem to get the files to load to those two programs. And I get no sound from Mefeedia. Can someone help me?

Local folklore has it that Kerala was "reclaimed" from the sea by the warrior sage Parasuraman by a throw of his battle-axe. Whatever the truth behind the legend, the fact remains that Kerala is a land with a huge necklace of canals, lagoons, lakes and rivers. These water bodies are loosely known in the local parlance as the backwaters. This peculiar landscape has had a distinct impact on the lifestyle of the people who live along the banks of these backwaters. Kerala uniqueness lies in its backwaters - found nowhere else in the world.
They form a beautiful and economically viable feature of Kerala. The 41 West-flowing rivers of Kerala form a backbone to this magnificent gift of nature. In the olden days, this water highway stretched from the South of Kerala right up to the northernmost part of the state. But situation has closed many of these waterways now.
There is an ongoing project to reopen the old waterways, especially for the tourism industry. The backwaters are a gateway for the visitor to see first hand the unhurried village life of rural Kerala. The life is tough and traditional work is highly labour intensive - a reason for the strong Communist sympathies of the rural folks. Here one meets the people engaged in country boat building, prawn cultivation, sand mining, coir manufacture, limestone collection (by divers who are specialists in this field), rice farming and duck rearing.
Such unhurried life holds a certain fascination for the visitor to these places. It is small wonder then, that this place is also a strong magnet for the millions of tourists who come here from all over the globe to encounter the unbelievable beauty of the place and the life of the millions besides these backwaters.
The journey normally begins at Alapuzha, because of its large network of canals. The journey winds through the small canals out into the Vembanad Lake. This place is also called Kuttanad, once the rice bowl of Kerala. Interestingly, this place is one of the few places below sea level. Using a clever system of dykes and bunds, cultivation of paddy goes on.
One beautiful backwater holiday destination is Kumarakom, which was "discovered" barely a decade ago. The lagoon here, with its spectacular view and fringed by coconut groves, has been featured in travel books all over the world. A 14-acre bird sanctuary adds to the natural beauty of Kumarakom.
Water ducks, cuckoos, Siberian storks etc are regular visitors here. Years ago, an Englishman Henry Baker had constructed his bungalow here. This has now been taken over and converted to heritage hotel by the Taj group and is one of the finest around. Not far from here is another heritage resort - Coconut Lagoon - also rated as one of the finest anywhere in the world by travel writers.
And not surprisingly, the entrepreneurs among the people here have introduced a spruced up version of the "kettuvallam" (covered canoes) with all the modern trappings of luxury. These "houseboats", around 200 in all, are a world apart and unique to this region. With the tourism flow into Kashmir at low ebb, these have to some extent replaced the houseboats of the Dal Lake. These regal house boats run by private tour operators do not come cheap, but the experience will leave one with a true sense of the wonder that is Kerala.
Back to the backwater cruise. You could go to Kollam through a maze of rivers, lakes and lagoons. The sights are truly out of this world. The last part of the trip is through the Kayamkulam Lake and then to the Ashtamudi Lake in all its pristine glory. Or you could go the other way around and go to Kochi, the commercial Capital of Kerala. This trip is also through myriad lagoons, rivers and lakes.
In the monsoon months, these backwaters reverberate with the sound of the traditional snake boat races, featuring the 130 feet long Chundan boats. It is believed that these boats were designed for ancient Naval battles fought in these backwaters. Local chieftains of the then kingdoms of Vadakkumkoor (Northern Kingdom), Thekkumkoor (Southern Kingdom) and Chempakassery all maintained their chundan boats.
Today these are still being used in another "battle", when up to 16 of them, with over a hundred rowers each, vie for top honours on the day of the races. The most important of these races is the Nehru Trophy Boat Race held on the second Saturday of August.
The Aranmula boat race is more traditional and is associated with temple festival there. The Aranmula Boat Festival The Parthasarathy temple of Aranmula (Aranmula is famed for the metallic mirror, used by royalty of pre independent India.) is on the banks of the holy river Pamba. It is believed that Lord Krishna and Balarama visited this place after the battle of Kurukshetra.
Legend has it that since Balarama found a high ground to escape the floodwaters and rested there, Lord Krishna in a fit of jealousy created a more elevated spot and rested there. Hence this temple has two sanctum sanctorums -one for Lord Krishna and one for Balarama at a lower level. The boat carnival starts on the day of Thiruonam, the most auspicious day of the Kerala festival, Onam.
Besides these backwaters of central Kerala, there are also other water bodies elsewhere. They are Veli (in South Kerala), Kadinamkulam, Edava, Anjengo, Madayara, Peravur, Ashtamudi, Kayamkulam, Kodungalur, Chetuva and Valiyaparamba (in North Kerala).

Blogspot Entries not Updating on Mefeedia

I notice that the posts from my blogspot video (http://tedsvideoblog.blogspot.com) no longer seem to appear on Mefeedia. The most recent post that made it over was from October 23, and I have made many newer posts.
These are Revver videos, btw. There was some problem in the past with the code autogenerated by Revver not working on Mefeedia. Revver's engineer, Asi, was kind enough to post a workaround in the Revver forums which seemed to solve the problem, but now even when I copy the code from the posts which made it over to Mefeedia in the past, changing only the media id, they still do show up as entries on Mefeedia.
Can Mefeedia fix this? Is there something more I can do to change my Flash embed code?
